No, we will not accept payments for registration fees.  Players will be required to pay in full at the time of registration.

We are able to offer refunds in full up until completion of the draft/team selection.  Once the draft is complete, there will be absolutely no refunds for any reason.

What are the financial policies for Antelope Little League?

Once a player is a registered player in our league, an account is set up within our database.  This account tracks registration fees, volunteer deposits, fundraisers, and team assignments.  If a player neglects to fulfill their financial commitment via a returned check or neglect to participate in a mandatory fundraiser, that player’s account will become delinquent. Prior to participating in post season play, fall baseball or the next spring season, the player’s account must be paid in full.

If a check is returned by your bank for non-sufficient fees, you will be notified by our treasurer.  You will be required to remit cash for the fees you owe, including any penalties incurred by the league.

Does Antelope Little League allow late registration or have a waiting list?

Yes, players who register after assessments have been held will be placed on a waiting list and placed as space permits.  If your player is not placed on a team, you will receive a refund in full.

Can I request a certain coach or teammate?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate coach/teammate requests in any division.

What does the registration fee include and what equipment will I need to purchase for my child?
Your registration fee is applied toward team equipment (such as batter’s helmets, catcher’s gear, bats, balls, tees, pitching machines, etc.), parks/field permit use fees, field maintenance, insurance premiums, charter fees, volunteer background checks, player uniforms, and other operating expenses.  The league will provide a hat and jersey for each player; and a hat and shirt for each manager and coach. You are responsible for the pants, belt, socks, and cleats. Please check with your team manager prior to purchasing the pants for your player as the manager will decide the colors for these items.  Little League rules state that the players must match when on the field; players out of uniform will not be permitted to participate in the game.

Each player will also need a baseball glove for games and practices.  Families may choose to purchase batter’s helmets, baseball bats, batting gloves, and other equipment at their own expense.

Does my child have to reside within Antelope Little League's geographical boundary to play in ALL?
Players must reside or attend an accredited K-12 school to participate in Antelope Little League.  Players using their school to determine eligibility will be required to complete a school registration form when they register.

What are the various divisions? In which division will my child play?
Antelope Little League offers the following Divisions: Tball for first year players that are league age 4-5, Minor A for second year 5 year-olds and players who are league age 6 and 7, Minor AA for players who are league age 7-9, Minor AAA for players who are league age 9-11, Major for players who are league age 10-12, 50/70 for players who are league age 11 - 13, and Juniors for players who are league age 13-14.   It should  be noted that teams are formed by draft in Minor AA and above.

How are teams formed?

For Minor AA, AAA, Major, and Junior divisions players must attend an assessment to be eligible for the draft.  Teams are formed according to Little League draft regulations. Minor A and Tball Division teams are formed by the Player Agent.

It should be noted that players who do not attend an assessment cannot move up a division unless they have aged out of the division.  For example: if an 8 year-old plays Minor AA and does not attend an assessment, they are ineligible for Minor AAA.   However, an 11 year-old who played Minor AAA who does not attend the assessment for his 12 year-old year, will be placed randomly on a Major team  League age 7 year-olds who attend an assessment are eligible, but not guaranteed placement in Minor A.  If the player is not drafted to Minor AA, they will be placed on a team in Minor A.

When does the season begin and what commitment will I be required to make?
Practices will start in mid-February, with games running March through mid-June.  Post Season tournament play begins in June with teams playing until they are eliminated.  Games and practices will occur 2-3 times per week depending on your team schedule and division.  We also ask our families to work 10 volunteer hours per player during the season, for the first two players in the family.

What are volunteer hours and how do I earn them?

Antelope Little League asks each family to donate 10 hours of their time to the league per player, for the first two players in the family.  Hours may be earned by being a rostered manager, coach, team parent, or scorekeeper.  Parents who do not have one of the aforementioned roles can earn hours by working field clean-up up days, our snack bar,, opening/closing ceremonies, All-Star tournaments, and other opportunities that are available during the season.  Families can bring any volunteer over the age of 16 to work hours at any of our events.

Families will provide a work deposit check of $150 per player (for the first two players in the family).  The league will not deposit the check.  Instead we will hold the checks until all volunteer opportunities are exhausted at the end of the season at which time we will only cash checks for players who have not fulfilled their entire commitment.

My husband is a coach and I am a team mom.  We only have one player in the league; may I donate my hours to another player?

No.  The purpose of volunteer hours is to have adequate coverage for all league games and events.  If we permitted volunteers to donate their hours to other players, it detracts from the pool of volunteers who are available to work.

Antelope Little League appreciates all of the work and dedication it takes from our families to make a season successful and hope that everyone understands the need for family involvement.  We would much rather have the 10 hours per player than cash a volunteer check.  It is also a great opportunity for you to show your player that you are as invested in our league as they are.

Where/when will games and practices be held?
All games for Tball-A division will be held at the Antelope Little League fields at Dudley Elementary.  The AA - Junior division will innerleague with other teams in our district and may be required to travel to Rio Linda, West Sacramento, Fulton-El Camino, Grant, North Natomas, and North Highlands.  Post Season tournaments may be held at any of the aforementioned locations.

Practices may be held at Firestone Park, Roseview Park. Tetotom Park, Blue Oaks Park, Lone Oak Park, Pokelma Park, Antelope High School, or another Antelope/North Highlands Area Park.

What are the responsibilities of managers, coaches, and team parents?
A manager, or head coach, is the person who coordinates all team practices and games and is responsible for the team equipment and ensuring all players, parents and coaches abide by the rules of the game and our Code of Conduct.  Managers are the first contact for parents for any issues that may arise during the season. They communicate those issues to the respective Division Vice President.   Managers select their coaches, scorekeeper, and team parent after their team is drafted. The league conducts information meetings for volunteers in these roles.

Coaches assist the manager with practices and games. Each manager is only allowed to have up to two additional assistant coaches in the dugout for Minor AAA-Juniors, and three assistant coaches for Tball – Minor AA. However, all other parents who wish to participate in practices are encouraged to do so.

The team parent is the person in charge of communicating information to the team. This includes practice and game schedules, snack schedules, fundraiser and any other pertinent league information. The team parent is also responsible for the creation of a team banner and finding a team sponsor. It is crucial to have a team parent assume responsibility of these tasks in order to allow the manager and coaches to focus on training the players.

IMPORTANT: All managers, coaches, team parents, umpires, board members, and other volunteers must submit a volunteer application along with a photocopy of a valid government-issued identification card to the Board of Directors to complete their background check as required by Little League. Starting 2023 volunteers will be live scanned.

What are All-Stars and what is the associated commitment?
Every local league across the
world may produce All-Star teams in each of the appropriate age ranges. They do not always correspond to divisions. The All-Star teams work their way up through tournaments to the Little League World Series until eliminated. The players and coaches vote on whom they want to represent their league based on performance during the regular season in accordance with Little League regulations. To be eligible, a player must have a current financial account, played in 60% of all regularly-scheduled games and must have assessed for the draft prior to the start of the season.
